Reflection and Planning (RAP) Guide

Increasing program quality requires reflection to identify strengths and recognize areas of opportunity. Reflection heightens awareness of performance and leads to change and growth.

The Reflection and Planning (RAP) Guide is based on the Illinois Statewide Quality Standards. The Guide includes Core Areas, Program Standards, and Quality Indicators from the Standards. It empowers program providers to reflect on their program’s quality.

It also provides a framework for out-of-school time professionals to:

  • Reflect on achievement in each of the core areas and program standards.
  • Identify specific areas for professional development.
  • Plan specific actions that will lead to improvement.
